Golf and Heart Health
Playing 18 holes of golf can be enough of a challenge to benefit your heart!
German researchers had golfers wear heart rate monitors while playing.
The good news is that the golfers' heart rates were high enough to boost their fitness levels, the same as if they participate in more traditional exercise programs.
The recommended daily amount of endurance training is 20 to 60 minutes,
and the golfers actually had their heart rates elevated for more than two hours per round!
The "bad" news is you have to walk the course and carry
or pull your clubs. Golf carts don't provide any heart health benefits!
